What we collect, and why
Join the list. Your name, email, and optionally your postcode and a note. We use these only to tell you when the next batch is available and to let you reserve bottles. We do this because you ticked the box to agree, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Contact and trade enquiries. Your name, email, subject and message. We use these only to reply to you. Our basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry.
Orders. Your name, email, delivery address and what you ordered. Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe’s own page, and we never see or store your card details. We use your details to pack, post and support your order, and to keep the records the law requires. Our basis is carrying out your order (contract) and legal obligation.
Who else sees your information
- Stripe processes payments (Stripe privacy policy).
- Our email and hosting providers handle messages and the server this website runs on, only to provide those services.
- Royal Mail receives your name and delivery address to deliver your order.
- CARTO provides the map on our Stockists page. Your device’s IP address is sent to CARTO when the map loads.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set cookies and does not use browser storage. We use Plausible Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking individuals. Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout page.
How long we keep it
- Mailing list: until you ask us to remove you. If you have not responded to anything from us for 24 months, we will ask whether you still want to hear from us, and remove you if you do not reply.
- Enquiries: 12 months after we last wrote to you.
- Order records: 6 years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email pete@schniffells.co.uk and we will respond within one month. To leave the mailing list at any time, reply “unsubscribe” to any of our emails.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
